Liberty Rehabilitation Specialists

Liberty Rehabilitation Specialists Inc was founded in 2002 with the mission to commit to a health care alliance and promote liberty from physical limitations and successful return to well-being.


Liberty’s staff are dedicated professionals with patient-centered programs while utilizing the best practices thru specialized knowledge and cutting-edge treatment.

Dr. Mary Lou Lugo PT is a graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center 1994 – San Antonio and acquired her clinical doctorate from Regis University 2006. Her specializations include Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Orthopedic Specialist Certification, a fellow of AAOMPT, Cross Fit Level 1 Trainer, and Neufit certification.

Dr. Rebecca Cantu PT is a graduate of Incarnate Word University 2017. Dr. Cantu’s experiences include pediatric therapy, high-intensity sports-specific rehabilitation, and neurological rehabilitation, with a special interest in vestibular therapy. Her specializations include Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery, Body-Based Torso Weighting, dry needling and is also Neufit Certified. She is currently active in creating programs for the Parkinson’s community.

Cheryl Villaret PT CLP LANA received her Master’s degree from the University of the Pacific, 1989. She has recently became credentialed by the Lymphology Association of North America signifying her commitment to providing the highest level of expertise and competency to her patients and their medical providers as a LANA-Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Mrs. Villaret is currently working on developing a Strength After Breast Cancer program for lymphedema prevention.

Dr. Angela Martin PT is a recent graduate from The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio 2019. Dr. Martin has clinical experience managing Orthopedic and Neurological conditions and is passionate about working with patients with amputations as well as adaptive athletes. She believes in empowering all whom she works with to take control of their own health and wellbeing and places importance on serving the community she lives in.

Melissa Stack PT is a graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1983. She began specializing in the treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction in 1990. She taught physical therapy and dental students at UTHSCSA for years regarding the evaluation and treatment of TMD and has lectured extensively on this subject. Although she specializes in TMD, she also enjoys treating a variety of patients.

Lori Welter MOT CHT graduated with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy at the University of Texas at El Paso. She was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award. Her true passion is hand therapy and became a certified hand therapist in November 2020. Lori is currently pursuing a post-professional doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Texas Tech University. Lori became an OT because she has a strong desire to help others achieve and reach their goals and gain more independence.

Dr. Amanda Munoz OT is a United States Army veteran who completed her Master’s degree in occupational therapy at the University of Findlay in Ohio and her Doctorate degree at Baylor University in 2019. She has experience in outpatient orthopedics, work conditioning/hardening, chronic pain programs, inpatient rehabilitation, stroke, and mental health. She is currently pursuing her CHT certification.

Dr. Erica Parazo PT is a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2013 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida in 2018. She is a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist. She is currently working towards her Board Certification in Neurologic Physical Therapy. She is passionate about treating older adults and empowering patients through movement to live active, engaging lives.

Jessica Morales OTR received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2014 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She has experience in the outpatient setting/Hand Therapy setting, treating musculoskeletal disorders, orthopedic post-surgical, and a wide range of upper extremity disorders/injuries. She utilizes a variety of treatment techniques including; Kinesio taping, cupping, Graston IASTM, and skills in custom orthosis fabrication for the upper extremity. She is planning on sitting for Certified Hand Therapist next month.
